Glastonbury Abbey

Venue information
Glastonbury Abbey is connected with legend to a degree that is unparalleled by any other abbey in England. Since Medieval times it has held legendary status as the earliest Christian foundation in Britain linked to Joseph of Arimathea and the burial place of King Arthur. Today it is a tranquil setting with 36 acres in which visitors can discover the stories behind Glastonbury Abbey with tours from costumed Living History presenters, an accredited museum, shop, outdoor café and packed events programme; new for 2018 afternoon teas and pre-theatre suppers in a Tudor Gothic Manor House.

COVID-19 measures
We will be adhering to the most up to date government guidelines relating to outdoor theatre. Our tour is ‘See It Safely’ compliant, please click here for more information. More information regarding our Covid safety planning can be found here. We want to make your continued attendance at live theatre as safe as possible and as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

Relaxed performances
We believe that all of our performances can be considered as relaxed. The lights don’t go down (until the sun sets!), the performances take place in the open air where there is plenty of space for audience members and all are welcome. We believe that theatre should be as accessible as possible and will be happy to talk to you about how we can make it accessible for you. If you have specific questions regarding your attendance at one of our performances please do not hesitate to get in contact with us so that we can help to welcome you. Contact details are here.
