Venue information
Located in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, Chawton House is an Elizabethan manor once owned by Jane Austen’s brother Edward. Known to Jane as “the Great House”, she would stroll up from her cottage, now the Jane Austen’s House Museum, and “dawdle away” many happy hours in the picturesque gardens and atmospheric setting.  Now open to the public seven days a week, with a lively events programme and tearoom set in the Old Kitchen, Chawton House welcomes visitors young and old.

We believe that theatre should be as accessible as possible and will be happy to talk to you about how we can make it accessible for you. If you have specific questions regarding your attendance at one of our performances please do not hesitate to get in contact with us so that we can help to welcome you. Contact details are here.
